A few days ago, Google Plus officially launched which means that users are no longer waiting with their invitse to join and enjoy the new social networking service promising rapid and continually updated features. Google Plus is the first foray into social networking by the biggest search engine in the world in the world today, that of course being the mighty Google.
Needless to say, it came as very little surprise that Google Plus chalked up 15 million visits in its first week of opening, the result of which was Google+ become the 8th largest social media platform on the web, according to research from analyst group Hitwise.
An incredible feat indeed, as previous records showed Google + in 54th position of such internet sites visited.
According to reports from PC World, the first-place position remained occupied by Facebook (1.7 billion visitors), followed byYouTube (530 million visitors), and Twitter (33 million visitors) within a one-week period.
